Certified & Sustainable
Proud of what we make. Responsible about how we make it.
We believe that craftsmanship and sustainability need to go hand in hand. A lot of materials are used in our set and construction work, so we make conscious decisions to limit our footprint. That is why it is not a box to tick, but part of how we work every day, from the materials we source to the way we run our production. As a NEN-EN 1090-2 and 1090-3 certified company, we work to the highest standards of quality and traceability.
Certified steel and aluminium construction
Our constructions hang above audiences, carry artists on stage, or travel across the world to a club in Ibiza. They are often unique, one-off designs. That is what makes them special, and it is also why the construction needs to do what it promises, even when it is overhead and in motion.
That is why Unbranded is certified according to NEN-EN 1090-2 for steel structures and NEN-EN 1090-3 for aluminium structures, both in execution class EXC2. The certification is issued by DVS ZERT, an independent certification body.
Not every design requires certified welding. We assess what is needed for each project. When a construction is load-bearing or suspended, or when the project requires it, we work fully according to the relevant standard:
- Qualified welding procedures, using MAG for steel and TIG for aluminium
- Supervision by a certified International Welding Engineer (IWE)
- The required inspection and documentation of the welding work
This way we combine the freedom of creative custom work with the assurance of certified welding, exactly where it matters.

EcoVadis Bronze Medal
At Unbranded, we build experiences that stay with people. The materials we use to do that sometimes don't. We are aware of that tension. That is why we have our performance independently audited every year by EcoVadis, one of the world's leading sustainability rating platforms. The audit covers Environment, Ethics, Labor & Human Rights, and Sustainable Procurement. A way to stay honest about where we stand and what we can do better.
Environment
Our electricity comes from Dutch wind power, backed by guarantees of origin. We measure our carbon footprint every year and aim to cut total emissions by 25% by 2030 compared to 2025. In our decoration workshop, rinse water is treated on site before it leaves the building.
Ethics
Integrity is written down and applied. We work with an anti-corruption policy, an information security policy and a privacy policy, supported by an ISO 27001-certified IT partner.
Labor & Human Rights
Our workshops are full of machines, metal and timber, so safety comes first. Incidents and near misses are reported, recorded and followed up, so we learn before something goes wrong.
Sustainable Procurement
Our suppliers are part of our footprint. We assess them on environmental and social performance and ask them to commit to our Supplier Code of Conduct.
Sustainable suppliers
A lot of materials are used in set and construction work. So we need to make conscious decisions about what we source and who we work with. Two of our suppliers we want to highlight are MEDITE and WISA, both use FSC-certified timber from responsibly managed forests.

How we work
Running a production workshop means making a lot of operational decisions every day. We try to make conscious ones. We manage our entire operation through Exact, which gives us insight into production, purchasing, and planning. Want to know more? Watch the video with Exact.
In our workshop, we separate waste at the source together with Renewi, wood, metal, plastic, and residual waste, each follow their own path. And through Treebytree, we contribute to reforestation in Africa as part of 360 Forest, a growing forest that offsets CO₂ and supports local communities.
